STAR STUDDED LINE UP FOR NIKO NA SAFARICOM LIVE LAUNCH CONCERT IN MERU0 Comments

The Niko na Safaricom Live series of concerts kick off in Meru this weekend with a star studded cast that will include Size 8, Camp Mulla, boy band Sauti Sol, “Kigeugeu” hit maker Jaguar, gospel sensation Jimmi Gait and comedian Jalang’o.
The all night extravaganza will also feature performances by guest artistes Wyre, Mike Rua,Ben Githae, Loise Kim and Ameru crew.
“Through these concerts we aim at putting together a night of wholesome and unmatched entertainment for our customers in Meru. Given the amount of practice hours committed to this concert, and investment in resources, you can be sure  that this will be a concert that that fans will talk about for a very long time”, said Safaricom CEO, Bob Collymore.
The Made for TV concert in Meru is the first in a series of six that will see the selected Safaricom ambassadors tour the country over a five month period. The concerts will be preceded by roadshows and campus storms.
The next stop for the Niko na Safaricom Live concerts is Kisumu and Eldoret on the 6th and 20th of October respectively.
Niko na Safaricom Live is Kenya’s biggest corporate-sponsored music property and an initiative between Safaricom and the Kenya Music industry. Launched in October 2010, the objective of the partnership is to nurture music talent by equipping Kenyan artistes from different genres with requisite skills and providing a national platform to showcase their talent. Niko Na Safaricom Live is also geared to enhance the artiste’s stage performances and presence.

Niko na Safaricom live is  set to incorporate performances by last year’s  Safaricom Kenya Live artistes who include amongst others Redsan, Wahu, Jua Cali, Wyre, Mike Rua, Nameless, Ken wa Maria, Osogo Winyo, Ally B, Phonotex Success Band, M.O.G, Eko Dydda, Allan Aaron, DJ John and Mike Rua among other guest artistes.
